Station Park

East Lothian boasts a magnificent coastline of beaches, golf courses, enchanting villages, museums, galleries and historic attractions plus East Lothian also enjoys more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in Scotland which makes it a popular destination for holidays and weekend breaks.

Visit Scotland (Scottish Tourist Board)

East Lothian's towns and villages are quaint and interesting. From North Berwick harbour you can take a boat trip to the Bass Rock, a gannet sanctuary, seeing the puffins and seals en route. Dunbar meanwhile boasts to be the sunniest place in Scotland where you can see the fishing boats and swim in the indoor wave swimming pool for the days when the sun isn't at its best! The beaches are fantastic with miles of golden sand and plenty opportunities for water sports. There are regular buses from East Fortune into North Berwick and Haddington from outside Merryhatton Garden Centre which is just 10 minutes walk from East Fortune Farm.

Edinburgh is on our doorstep and only 20 miles away. Drem train station is only 2 miles from the farm and the train takes you straight into the City centre. There are many galleries and museums, exhibitions and concerts and exciting buildings to explore. Walking down the Royal Mile from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace you can't help but feel the ambience of long ago. During August the famous Edinburgh Festival comes to town - music, art and drama are everywhere for the month and the city just buzzes.
